Long Island TD Bank Robber Nabbed Shortly After Fleeing On Foot

Nassau County Police report the arrest of a 33-year-old man for a bank robbery in Floral Park.

Rajiv P. Ramjas of Queens was arrested shortly after the robbery occurred at the TD Bank at 372 Jericho Turnpike around 11:50 a.m., Sunday, June 2,  in Floral Park, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, Ramjas, 33, approached the teller and passed a note demanding money. The teller complied and he fled with an undisclosed amount of currency westbound through the parking lot, police said.

Ramjas was arrested a short time later on Pontiac Street in Queens Village.

There were seven employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries, police said.

Ramjas was charged with robbery.
